VOICE SERIES ARCHIVE
A small selection from my portfolio of surreal watercolours inspired by Midge Ure from 2005 onwards .......many of these paintings have their roots back with Live 8, Make Poverty History and the ongoing campaigns as well as back further with the Michael Buerck footage of the Ethiopian famine, Band Aid and Live Aid. That sense of a world coming together, of hands reaching out across the world, of people wanting to make a difference affected me profoundly on all levels.
The efforts of Midge and many others to tackle child poverty and child mortality around the globe have been an inspiration. Midge's face is in some of the art as a symbolic representation of ‘our voice’ in the continuing need for change.
