Standing Strong is an expressive, atmospheric painting that uses symbolism to reflect the concept of standing strong against the storms and through the vicissitudes of life. The tree is symbolic of the strength that is needed to survive this increasingly crazy, chaotic world and all it's challenges.
The tree was created with crackle medium applied with a palette knife and the texture left to 'evolve' so that once painted it would further the impression of an ancient tree withstanding the storms of life. The slightly chaotic placement of the birds is also symbolic.
Medium: watercolour, ink, crackle paste and a touch of inktense.
Painting size: unmounted 11 x 16 cm/ mounted c 20 x 25cm
The painting is in an antique white mount and will be framed. It will come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
